A Paris Story, Told Through Style
One of our favorite people spends a fair amount of time in Paris. Her family has a magnificent apartment in the 7th arrondissement on the Left Bank, and over the years she has come to know the city intimately.
Kate’s Paris adventures take her everywhere from the designer boutiques of Avenue Montaigne and Rue Saint-Honoré to the charming streets of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Her days include visits to iconic luxury houses, hidden French boutiques, fabulous museums, charming cafés, and some of the city’s most delicious restaurants.
As we move through her journey, we’ll share her favorite looks—paired with either the exact piece or something similar—so that if a particular treasure captures your heart, you can make it part of your own wardrobe.
So, without further ado… bienvenue à Paris.
Dressing for the Rhythm of Paris
Before we dive in, a quick note on Paris weather—because it plays a meaningful role in how Kate dresses.
While summer temperatures are generally in the 70s and 80s, Paris can be wonderfully unpredictable. Heat waves certainly occur, but cool days are not uncommon. In fact, as we write this, Paris experienced hail yesterday and temperatures today are only in the mid-60s—and it is June. Even during the warmest months, evenings often cool into the 50s and low 60s.
Understanding this rhythm helps explain the layering, textures, and versatility you’ll see throughout her looks.
Timeless Pieces, Styled for Now
Like many women who love beautiful clothing, Kate believes in buying well and keeping her treasures for years. As a result, many of the pieces featured in these photos are not from the current season.
We’ve done our best to find options that capture the same spirit, silhouette, and overall aesthetic. While you may not be able to purchase the exact item shown, you’ll find beautiful alternatives that deliver the same chic, timeless feeling.
You’ll also notice a recurring theme of rich brown tones throughout—an invitation to mix, match, and interpret these looks in a way that feels personal to you.
Arrival in Style
We first meet Kate as she arrives looking as though she has just stepped off the runway. She firmly believes in traveling beautifully and has mastered the art of looking polished while remaining comfortable—changing into pajamas for the overnight flight certainly helps.
Upon arrival, she meets her driver and heads to the family apartment, where she spends the remainder of the day relaxing and settling into the rhythm of Paris.

Lunch on the Right Bank
On her first full day in the city, Kate meets friends for lunch at L’Oiseau Blanc at The Peninsula Paris. Located on the Right Bank in the elegant 16th arrondissement, the setting calls for a look that is polished, sophisticated, and beautifully elevated. There is laughter, wonderful conversation, and, of course, fabulous food as Kate savors an afternoon with friends in one of Paris’s most iconic destinations.
An Evening on the Left Bank
That evening, she heads to Brasserie des Prés on the Left Bank. One of the fascinating things about Paris is that the city often feels as though it has two distinct personalities. The Right Bank tends to be dressier and more formal, while the Left Bank embraces a slightly more relaxed interpretation of Parisian chic. Both value style, elegance, and polish, but the mood is noticeably different. As a result, Kate’s evening look feels more relaxed while remaining every bit as chic and sophisticated as her luncheon ensemble.

Iconic Parisian Shopping
The following day is devoted to one of Kate’s favorite Parisian activities: shopping. From Avenue Montaigne to Rue Saint-Honoré, she visits beloved designer boutiques while keeping an eye out for new treasures to add to her collection.
With hours of walking ahead of her, comfort becomes just as important as style. The result is a look that is polished, sophisticated, and perfectly suited for a day spent exploring the boutiques of some of the world’s most celebrated fashion houses.

A Day at the Museums
The next day finds Kate wandering the halls of the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay, soaking in the beauty, culture, and inspiration that make Paris unlike any other city in the world. As always, she is beautifully pulled together in a look that feels quietly luxurious and effortlessly Parisian. While the look is undeniably elegant, it is equally practical for a day that involves miles of walking through some of the world’s most magnificent museums.
A Final Day on the Left Bank
For her final day in Paris, Kate remains on the Left Bank, strolling through charming boutiques and discovering the little treasures that make wandering through Paris such a delight. There is no strict agenda—just the pleasure of exploring one beautiful street after another and popping into the wonderful shops that give Saint-Germain-des-Prés so much of its character and charm. Along the way, she searches for special finds for both herself and her home while revisiting a few of her favorite designers.

Here we bid adieu to Kate as she departs for Gordes in the south of France…
And just in case you’re curious about where Kate is headed next, we thought we’d share a few images of Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages in all of France. Perched high in the hills of Provence, Gordes is known for its stunning stone architecture, winding streets, spectacular views, and undeniable charm.
Perhaps we’ll catch up with Kate there one day.
