This spring’s trends promise another season of style adventure!
You’ve heard me say it before—many trends aren’t worth pursuing—particularly if they don’t make you look and feel fabulous. This spring is going to be a fun one, however! As always, I gravitate toward the timeless, but we’ll also see some unexpected and interesting twists that will pique your interest. Of course, my primary focus is on the stunning looks that will raise your level of chic. From that perspective, it’s going to be an amazing season!
This Season’s Must-Have Trends
COLORS
White and tan are everywhere this season. If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know that I find this combination to be quintessentially timeless not to mention the epitome of French summer chic. The crisp nature of these iconic neutrals, worn together or separate, is guaranteed to pop your look. Be sure to make this your go-to color combination!
And while we’re on the subject of color, this spring you’ll be seeing lots of green—from apple to olive—as well as all shades of pink, canary yellow, and royal blue. And because I’m so passionate about white and tan, I’m going to bring them up again here, as they’re definitely worth mentioning twice!
STRIPES
Where patterns are concerned, we’re going to be seeing a lot of stripes this spring. Striped tops can be paired with khakis and jeans, or, if you’re wearing striped bottoms, pair them with an iconic white T-shirt or a white crispy short-sleeved shirt.
‘60s INSPIRED
Who doesn’t love the ‘60s? Their retro Bohemian looks are everywhere this spring and will bring a lot of fun to the season with those interesting twists I mentioned earlier. This trend is easy to wear and really packs a chic, stylish punch that takes little effort to accomplish. Think flare-leg jeans and platform shoes for starters! Best of all, you will already have pieces in your wardrobe that you can combine with a little something new—and off you go, looking fabulous!
One look that is part of that ‘60s vibe you’ll love is the mini-skirt worn with a white T-shirt. You’re going to want to check out the fabulous mini dresses I’ve shopped as well. This is such an easy and fun look to pull together as the weather warms up.
MENSWEAR
The menswear trend continues to top the charts with pleated and flat front wide-leg pants, and this year, oversized blazers as well. While I love this look, I would counsel you to stick with only slightly oversized or boyfriend blazers (as opposed to the massively oversized options) as they will stand you in good stead year after year. After all, you’re looking for trendy AND timeless—not just trendy.
Short suitings are also a big deal this spring. Look for plaid short suits and then use that blazer with your jeans and khakis for additional stunning spring looks.
ATHLETIC LEISUREWEAR
And last, but most certainly not least, the style trend we most gravitate toward for everyday dressing—athletic leisurewear. We all understand how to wear this look, so it’s simply a matter of figuring out what spectacular pieces you want to add to your existing athletic leisure wardrobe this spring.
SUMMING UP THE SPRING 2022 SEASON
I love these trends! There is so much potential in terms of combining any number of them with the addition of just a few pieces. This will make your spring trend wardrobe both chic and tremendously versatile. Be sure to add a few fresh, exciting twists to what you already own and take spring by storm!
