One of our favorite casual looks is the utility or modern military look. We love it as it is easy and fun, and while it sometimes serves as a trend, the reality is that it’s timeless.
Naturally, the utility look involves an olive green or olive khaki color palette, and when paired with a white T-shirt, sneakers, neutral suede booties, or flip flops, this look is the quintessential casual go-to.
I am possessed by this look and the ease with which we can all make it chic. And as an added bonus, utility pants and jackets can be worn year-round and easily changed up, according to the season you’re in. For our purposes here, it serves beautifully as a casual chic transition look.
If you are like me, you are itching to start wearing the luxurious fabrics and clothes of fall—but the weather prohibits diving right into that yummiest of dressing seasons.
Transitioning from season to season is always a difficult time in fashion as it’s hard to find transitional fabric weights. However, there are utility pants and jackets everywhere, so be sure to include this look along with your other summer-to-fall must-haves! It is a winner for sure!
Utility Pants
I have shopped some delicious neutrals in the form of pants, from off-white to olives and khakis to cinnamon shades. The silhouettes you see here are comfy, easy to wear, and seriously show-stopping. Note the harem and button ankle options which will provide you with an updated look to this fun pant. I love the wider legs in some of them as well. Each is a compliment magnet.
White Tees
I see a white T-shirt as the perfect top for this chic, casual utility look, so for that reason, I included a few of my favorites. The crisp white of this wardrobe essential pulls your look together and pops your presentation.
Utility Jackets
