Jeans are the ultimate wardrobe staple—and we might add, one we can’t live without!
This season, denim is having a major moment with wide-leg, straight-leg, bootcut, and flare styles showing up everywhere. And since we live in this wardrobe essential, finding a few perfect pairs that we go to each day is a joy and a relief! And in the event you’d like to see even more options, we’re including a link to our Free People blog here.
Are you ready? Then let’s get to it!
Wide-leg Jeans
We have been living endlessly in these jeans for several seasons now — or, if you’re like me, for years and years! This silhouette is simultaneously comfy, relaxed, and just edgy enough.
You know the drill when it comes to pairing these jeans with iconic white T’s and fabulous third pieces, but when it comes to footwear, think pointed-toe flats, kitten-heeled booties, or mules to elevate the look. And sneakers always add that effortless, fun edge.
Bootcut & Flare-Leg Jeans
You all know what I am going to say. This is the most flattering style of jean we can put on our bodies—regardless of our body type.
These timeless treasures will serve you endlessly. Pair them with pointed-toe booties to lengthen and slenderize (and, of course, look fabulously chic). As we move into spring and summer, think pointed-toe kitten or flat mules, as well as sandals — from platforms to flip-flops and everything in between.
These jeans move beautifully from business casual to casual cocktail to everyday wear. They truly have that wow factor
Straight-Leg, Boyfriend, Crop & More
For several seasons now, we’ve gravitated mostly toward wide-leg jeans, with bootcut and flare as our trusted fallback staples (which, by the way, are having a hot trend moment again — something that makes me smile, since they are truly timeless).
As I shopped for this blog, I came across straight-leg jeans in abundance and thought it was time to highlight them.
One of the most flattering ways to wear a straight-leg jean is in a longer, more slender cut. I recommend pairing it with pointed-toe booties or pointed-toe mules — kitten-heeled or flat — for a beautifully slenderizing, wow-worthy look.
Another fun option is the ankle-length straight leg. Pair it with pointed-toe mules, flip-flops, driving moccasins, boat shoes, or sneakers. Add an iconic white tee and a fabulous sweater — pullover or cardigan, and you have an absolutely stunning look.
We’re also seeing the deliciously edgy barrel jean, which has been around for a few seasons now and continues to bring some architectural drama to your wardrobe.
And don’t miss the capri-length jean — so fifties, so Audrey Hepburn, and completely wow-worthy. I love this paired with pointed-toe kitten heels or flat mules, or delicate heeled strappy sandals (no platforms, please).
Wrapping it All Up
Of all the super adorable looks out there, which will you add to your jean wardrobe this year? Happy hunting on your jean journey!
