This blog isn’t about shopping—at least not for the most part. Instead, it’s about sharing some fun, inspiring concepts around what spring and summer will look like in terms of upcoming trends. If you’re headed somewhere warm, these trends will be especially relevant for your travels. And if you’re like most of us, still wrapped in the coziness of winter, it’s just as delightful to begin dreaming about what’s ahead as spring slowly emerges.
This is your moment to think… hmm, which of these fabulous—and I do mean fabulous—trends do I want to weave into my existing wardrobe? Which pieces will add that pop and freshness that makes getting dressed such fun as we move into spring and summer?

The Trends!
This spring is going to be so much fun, bringing a fresh wave of trends to explore. Truthfully, there were so many great directions this season could go in that a number of trends I love didn’t even make the cut! Often, trend lists are filled with styles that simply don’t translate into flattering, wearable looks—and that’s key for a trend to be considered in my book. But this season? There are so many that are real, wearable, timeless, and truly fun.
That said… here we go. Let’s see what made our cut.
Funnel neck jackets are having a major moment, especially in leather. And speaking of leather—you’ll be seeing it everywhere this season: pants, skirts, dresses, jackets, and coats.
The trench coat is also a major deal. This timeless silhouette will serve you and your wardrobe forever, and thankfully, the styles this season are beautifully understated.
Tunic-length tops and sweaters are everywhere, and I love them because this length truly flatters us all.
And while we’re on the subject of universally flattering looks, let’s talk jeans. The slim bootcut jean is back in a big way. Paired with tunics, this silhouette is chic, lengthening, and wonderfully slimming. Not to be left out, the wide-leg jean is still a seriously hot ticket—thank heavens. Truthfully, I see both the bootcut and the wide leg as styles that will always be chic companions in our wardrobes.
Utility wear, including cargo styles and shackets, is a statement maker this season—yay!
We’ll also be seeing flowing babydoll tops and drop-waist silhouettes reminiscent of 1920s flapper style. I’m so looking forward to seeing how these translate as spring and summer truly emerge.
For looks that pack a punch, double-breasted blazers are a key player. Those of you who follow me know I am utterly possessed by the statement a double-breasted blazer makes—it’s instant pop.
Menswear-inspired trousers will have you channeling your inner Diane Keaton, and scarves are making interesting appearances as part of the outfit itself, layered onto sweaters, coats, and jackets—something we began seeing last fall and will continue into the warmer seasons.
Monochromatic color schemes are always true showstoppers. They’re always chic and always impactful. As for color, desert hues are strong, and of course, pastels will be a big deal.
Shoes? Look for pointed toes in slingback pumps and ballet flats. Driving moccasins and boat shoes will be strong contenders for your shoe budget, as will thong sandals. Sleek sneakers remain the sneaker of the hour (love them!), and yes—the platform sandal is back in a big way… no pun intended.
When it comes to handbags, two styles stand out. Mini crossbodies—just large enough for your phone, lip gloss, keys, and cards—are huge, with vanity styles leading the way. On the other end of the spectrum, oversized totes are equally strong, appearing in a variety of styles, including top-handle versions and diverse fabrications. Textured bags, in particular, are ones to watch across all categories.
