This month we shot The Look at one of my favorite places…. Free People.

And boy did it not disappoint! In fact, it was so exciting that I had a terrible time trying to decide which to use for the shoot and I do not exaggerate when I say I personally could have bought everything you are going to see!

Yummy, yummy, yummy, is all I can say. Each of these looks is so incredible versatile and endlessly useful… together or separated to use with things you already own…

Each of these looks is so incredibly versatile and endlessly useful, together or separated to use with things you already own.

One of the many things I love about Free People is how piece-driven they are rather than whole looks oriented and the relaxed, fun silhouettes make each of these pieces easy to use endlessly.

I would generally consider the Free People vibe to be bohemian, and it mostly is, yet, as you will note from what we show here, there is so much that is understated simplicity.

With this particular collection, I found myself going back to my days growing up on the beach in California where white tees and tanks under baggy sweaters with cropped straight leg pants and leather flip flops were the everyday casual look. Another great memory look was the cutoff with the white peasant shirt.

As an aside, the jeans and denim shirt over a white tee or tank and left mostly unbuttoned just speaks to me. Naturally, the faded bootcut jean paired with a clog or a pointy toe mule or bootie is a quintessential Free People look.

Then there is the cuffed sweat pant paired with a white tee and anything: sneakers, flip flops, clogs, or mules…how comfy and adorable is that, especially right now when relaxed and comfortable are the order of the day!

And lastly, and the most important ingredient in all this fun, is the fact that these are all neutrals. That is what creates the chic and makes each of these pieces and combinations a show-stopping pop!

All that said, Free People is a gold mine of casual, incredible separates that are these little individual style treasures. The mix and match possibilities are endless, and Free People does relaxed like no one else.

So channel your inner California girl or your inner boho. If there was ever a time to do it, that time would be now.

Have fun… look carefully so you don’t miss a thing! And for sure… happy shopping!
